So, there's been a bit of talk in the news lately about BigChurch.com, a spin-off of AdultFriendFinder.com, both owned entirely by Penthouse Media Group, Inc. Yeah, THAT Penthouse.

Regardless of what bells & whistles the site has to offer, the big question of the day is: should we - as Christians - give our money to a service that profits from pornography of the most graphic nature?

This is more for discussion than anything. I know how I feel about it and my self-assumed role as a reviewer of Christian dating sites is genuinely unaffected by it. But personally, I've got a pretty nagging feeling in the guy of my stomach that as a consumer, I'm just having my faith pandered to.

And this is a bigger step away from the ChristianCafe / JewishCafe mix. With BigChurch.com owned by Penthouse I question the conflict of interest for both: who is serving who? This is more than playing both sides of the fence and I think Christians need to deeply evaluate their position of subscribing to a site's ownership. Because, beyond the half a million Christians listed in their index as one of the largest Christian dating sites online, ultimately your dollar is flowing upstream. Now you know exactly where its landing.

This new site is just about to change everything in Christian online dating.

There's also extensive questionnaires that build your Christian profile that you can use to match other potential partners against. Too cool!

Don't get too excited yet, though, because this site is still in limited beta testing. You can ask them for a preview account if you just can't wait. But it really looks like >BlessedDates.com is going to mix it up for the stale old Christian dating sites.

Once the primary voice of Christian dating review sites, we're really left guessing who owns and operates ChristianDatingService.com any longer.

The current owner has anonymized their domain registry. A little digging indicates that it is owned by "Trinity Marketing Group" out of Naperville, IL (see aboutus.org ).

First and foremost, the site clearly promotes ChristianCafe.com with a vengence. So, too, does Trinity Marketing Group's other site, SingleChristian.net.

Sadly, it appears that ChristianDatingService.com is little more than an affiliate marketing plant for ChristianCafe.

So much for an honest review, eh?

Nice, except its owned by the same guy who does Jewish cafe. Can you do one, the other or both?

And, really, isn't working both sides of the fence what being a Christian is all about? Snort.

Nah, in all fairness, this is a clean and well managed site. The service is stable and for the most part the dating potential is good. Plenty of standard features and not much stands out.

Safer than dating on craigslist. Not as nasty as match.com.

My name is Teri and I have been involved with Christian dating websites for years, in one sense or another. I have worked for a couple and belonged to nearly all of them.

I recently became frustrated with other Christian dating review sites for not being honest and forthright with their associations. Sadly, as Christians, we're not getting honest information and feedback on the Internet from those who claim to be independent reviewers.

Today, all that changes.

We'll be reviewing the top dating sites (and even some of the little guys) to get a fresh view of who's Christian and who's just marketing.
